The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to provide escort for the American Veterans Traveling Tribute as it arrives in Parkersburg, WV on Wednesday, 26 Sep 18.  This Traveling Tribute Vietnam Wall is ¾ replica and is 360 feet in length. 

   We will meet them at the Love’s Travel Stop located at 3875 Charleston Rd, Ripley, WV 25271 (Exit 132 off I-77, Fairplains).

   There will be flags at the Mid-Ohio Valley Veterans Museum on Seventh Street in Parkersburg and at City Park for those who want to welcome the Traveling Wall as it travels along Seventh Street on its way to Plum Street, where it will turn right and go to Washington Avenue. The Wall will then proceed to City Park.

   The Wall will go to the paved road that runs parallel to the first base line of the Bennett Stump Ball Field. It will be welcomed there.

   The Grand Opening will be at noon Sept. 27. The Opening Ceremonies will be at 6 p.m. with Master of Ceremonies James McCormick, a Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient.

   The keynote speaker of the evening will be Hershel “Woody” Williams, USMC CWO4 (retired), a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II.

   Staging time: 1:30 PM. 

   Mission brief:  2:15 PM 

   KSU:  Approx 3:00 PM 

   ETA in Parkersburg:  5:00 PM
