ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for YN1 Newton Frederick Blihar, U.S. Navy (Retired), Vietnam Veteran for his final services on Saturday, 02 Nov 19.

Petty Officer Blihar served our great Country honorably for 21 years. Among the many awards he received are the National Defense Service Medal, 4th Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (7 stars), Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (60-).

He served aboard the McCaffery from 1956 to 1959, Krishna from 1963 to 1964, Higbee from 1967 to 1968 and J.P. Jones from 1968 to 1970.

From 1975 to 1977, he served with COMDESRON 22 staff out of Norfolk, Va. On Nov. 22, 1975 while on the Claude V. Ricketts, he battled a fire that engulfed the Belknap when the ship collided with the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy in the Mediterranean Sea.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00 PM at the Grant Town Community Building, Ballah Ave., Grant Town, WV (https://tinyurl.com/y35n8n52).

We will escort Newton to the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, 1290 Fairmont Ave., Morgantown, WV (https://tinyurl.com/yysnep73) for his inurnment services.

Upon arrival at the cemetery, our flag line will be set and maintained until the conclusion of services.
