The Patriot Guard has been requested to provide an escort for this Unit as they return from Afghanistan. While the weather conditions may not be the exact escort weather, we need to remember that they have defended our freedom in less than ideal conditions. This is our chance to say thank you.

Who: USMC/R 4th Combat Engineers Battalion

When: Saturday, 14 January 2012

What: This is an escort mission; the final destination will be Cross Lanes, WV. Bikes and cages are welcome. If you can safely fly flags at highway speeds (60-70 mph), feel free to do so. Once we arrive at the Cross Lanes destination, we will set up a quick flag line for the Marines as they depart.

Staging location: Hardees Restaurant, Marmet, WV, located at exit 89 on I-77 (the WV Turnpike).
When you exit the interstate, turn towards the river and the Hardee’s will be on the right.

Staging time: 1400-1430 NOTE: this is a best-guess estimate, we anticipate this time may change a little, but we won’t have a more solid time until Saturday morning. Check the mission thread, or call the POCs listed below prior to departing your home, to ensure you have the most current information.

Weather:  Current long-range forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, with a high of 37 degrees. Use good judgement regarding your own mode of transportation.  Proper cold weather riding gear is recommended for all two wheelers.
