ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of SSGT William Edward “Billy” Friese, 30, West Virginia Army National Guard WoT Veteran, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders provide an escort as their Hero is returned to West Virginia on TUESDAY, 30 July 2019. Billy made the Ultimate Sacrifice on 17 July 2019 at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. He was deployed there as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Billy, a light-wheeled vehicle mechanic in the West Virginia Army National Guard, was assigned to the 821st Engineer Company, 1092nd Engineer Battalion, 111th Engineer Brigade, based in Summersville, W.Va. He had enlisted in 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan for a year in 2010 with the 1092nd Engineer Battalion.
Friese’s medals and decorations include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the NATO Afghanistan Service Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal.

KSU: 0820 AM for the short journey to the Wood County Airport.
Additional information will be provided at briefing. Attendance IS required to participate in this most honorable and somber escort.
Upon SSGT Friese’s return, escort will be provided to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 1934 Dupont Rd., Parkersburg, WV, a distance of approximately 15 miles.
