As there will be no National Gathering of the Guard this year, with their blessing, individual states/regions have been encouraged to hold their own GOTG in an effort to give all members the opportunity to meet one another in a venue away from what we normally do.

To this end, WV RC Kevin Geisel approached me to inquire if it would be okay to try and set up a GOTG that would not only be for our West Virginia members but would be open to all PGR members that would care to attend.

With his hard work and diligence, we now have a GOTG set up for June 22-24, 2012.  Because of the price(s) afforded us, this event will take place, primarily, in Marietta, OH although there will also be an event in Parkersburg, WV that all who wish may attend.

There is a meet-and-greet “social hour” planned for Friday evening from 1700-1900 and a full slate of events scheduled for Saturday, culminating in a Blessing of the Bikes on Sunday morning.  Again, participation in all of these is left up to individual preferences.

A block of 27 rooms has been arranged at the Comfort Inn in Marietta, OH at a cost of $70.00 plus tax.  You may contact them at (740) 374-8190 being sure to specify you are with the PGR.

Thanks to the efforts of PGR member Barbara Haught, additional rooms have been secured at the Magnuson Hotel, Exit 185 on I-77 (Williamstown).

A block of 25 rooms are being reserved at the cost of $55.00 per night, DOUBLE occupancy, with an additional $15.00 for additional occupants and/or pets.  Continental breakfast is provided and they have an outdoor pool.  Additionally, discounts at the nearby Dutch Pantry are available to guests of the motel.  Hot breakfast for $3.99 and/or 10% off other meals.

Hotel is located approximately 8 miles from Marietta.

Anyone wishing to reserve rooms here may do so by calling 304-375-3730.  Be sure to specify your party as being with the Patriot Guard Riders.
If you have no plans for that weekend and it is within your budget, why not make plans to spend some “happy time” with others who you may only know by name.

I hope to see you there!
Respects,
Joe
