Escort Vietnam Traveling Wall – Parkersburg – 31 Aug

The Patriot Guard has been requested to escort the traveling wall as it brought to Parkersburg, West Virginia on August 31, 2010. Staging will be at 15:30 at the Loves Truck Stop, 3875 Charleston Rd., Ripley, WV (Exit 132 off I-77 North) with KSU at 15:45. Estimated arrival in Parkersburg is 17:00. Confirmed Mission – CPL James Murray, USA, Korea KIA/MIA – Shinnston – 20 Aug

   The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in silent Honor and Respect for Cpl James Murray, U.S. Army, Korean War KIA/MIA, as he is returned home and laid to rest in his native Shinnston.  Cpl Murray made the ultimate sacrifice in N. Korea in 1951 and his remains were recently identified.      He will be laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston, WV at 1300 on 20 Aug 11, with full military honors.     …

Confirmed Mission – Henry Runyon, Jr., USA, WWII Veteran, Huntington,WV, TBD

   America has lost another member of “The Greatest Generation”. Henry Runyon, Jr., of Huntington, WV, passed away on 13 August 2011, and his family has requested Patriot Guard participation at his funeral service. Henry was a colorful character, and often told stories from his adventures in the US Army during WWII; he will be greatly missed by friends and family. Confirmed Mission – CPO Nick Null, USN – Parkersburg, WV – 19, 21 Aug

      The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family of Special Operations Chief Nicholas “Nick” Null, 31, to stand in silent Honor and Respect as he makes his final journey home and is laid to rest.    Our participation shall consist of escorting Chief Null upon his return to West Virginia and at his funeral service and interment.     Chief Null is expected to return to West Virginia on FRIDAY, 19 August.  ETA is not yet known…

Confirmed Mission – Cadet Jacob Bowen, 18, USMA – Fairmont – 29 Jul

West Virginia is, once again, in mourning for the passing of Cadet Jacob Bower, 18, from Fairmont.  Jacob was a member of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, class of 2015.  He went to be with the Lord on Thursday, 21 July, while participating in a training exercise at the Academy.      No further details are known at this time.  Contact has been made with CWO Christie Smith, CAO for the family.  She will present our offer to…
