Honor Mission: Joseph Gregory Moran, Active-Duty US Army Martinsburg, West Virginia - September 4, 2022

September 4, 2022

Please join us as we stand in silent Honor and Respect for Joseph Gregory Moran, 21 U S Army, Active Duty services on Sunday, 4 August 2022. Joseph went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18 2022.

Beginning at a very early age Joe showed an incredible drive to push himself against all challenges and obstacles in life. With such a strong aspiration for personal growth and social connectivity Joe joined many clubs and extracurricular activities, like chess club and Young Life. He had an ear for Jazz during middle school and friends will recall the great times they spent in band together and the admiration they held for Joe’s natural talent.

Joe’s ambitious spirit continued throughout high school where he joined football, lacrosse and ran track to keep himself physically active and involved. He trained so very hard with such an inspiring attitude. His involvement in Young Life flourished and he found great comfort and dedication to the mission of the organization and with those he grew close to.

Joe graduated Suma Cum Lade from Martinsburg High School with a Diversity Scholarship, Promise Scholarship, and a Scholarship of Distinction. After high school he attended West Virginia University for two semesters, during this time Joe was pulled to a different path. Joe enlisted on September 22, 2020, and headed to Fort Leonard Wood for Basic training. He then completed the 68W Combat Medic Training and was soon after stationed at 247th Medical Detachment Field Hospital, Fort Bliss, Tx.

While it is truly impossible to capture the true and radiant essence of Joe, it must be said that this beautiful soul had an incredible positive impact in this world and especially to each person he met. The genuine care he showed those around him uplifted the spirits and hope of so many friends and family. His hysterical goofy nature brought out the best in those around him. The power of his gleaming smile will stay with us throughout time and space
