Edgar Clay Snyder, 95 EMT and Retired Fireman for his final services on Saturday, 12 November 2022. Edgar went to be with the Lord on Sunday, 6 November 2022.

Edgar was medically unable to be drafted in WWII, so he became a member of the WV Guard. They were formed to protect WV in case of invasion. He became a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was the commander of the Preston County Chapter. He was a pilot and flew search and rescue. He retired as a Major. He was also in charge of Civil Defense and often had to go and check the food supplies taking his older son with him. He was a President of the Preston County Fireman’s Association as well and the President of the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department. He got the single call 911 system in place for the county. He designed the patch the Preston County Firemen still wear on their sleeve today. He helped develop and implement the Preston County Ambulance Service. He served on the board of Albright Baptist Church 2672 North Preston Hwy
