William “Bill” Gabriel Chiodo, 95 U S Navy WWII Veteran, served proudly in the United States Navy during WWII on the USNTS Great Lakes, Il and the USS Medusa (AR 1) receiving Pacific and American Theater Ribbons, WWII Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He retired after 40 years of service to Weirton Steel Corp. Bill was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, serving in the Knights of Columbus in Mingo, in addition to the Theta Chi Alpha and the Garibaldi Lodge, both of Follansbee, WV and the Weirton Steel 25 year Club. Bill was the 2019 Veteran of the year by the Brooke County Veterans Memorial Foundation.
