The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for CPL Paul James Counts, 95 USMC Veteran for his final services on Saturday, 5 June 2021. Paul went to be with the Lord on Thursday 22 April 2021.

Paul is from Bellburn, WV. He was a CPL in the USMC and served in WWII. CPL Counts participated in action against the enemy at Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands 19 Feb 45 – 16 March 45. He also participated in the occupation of Japan 23 Sept – 18 April 46. Paul was a Demolition Specialist (Tunnel Rat) during his honorably service. Paul stood 50 ft. away when the first flag was raised at Iwo Jima. Paul received the Good Conduct Medal and a Campaign Metal. Family speaks highly of Paul being a good and honest man and loved God. His family also said “in Paul’s last few years he had never gotten over what he had been through and that they would have never surrendered”.
