The family of Jerry Lee Hobbs has requested the Patriot Guard Riders escort their loved one to his final resting place on Tuesday, Sept 3. Jerry was a decorated United States Army Vietnam Veteran who survived two tours in that country during the war. He will be interred at the Donel C. Kinard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Institute, WV. Jerry is the brother-in-law of WV PGR member Danny Layton.

This mission will consist of an escort from the funeral home in Belle, WV, to the cemetery in Institute, and a flag line for the interment ceremony at the cemetery. The escort will take place on interstate highways, at interstate speeds…the flying of large flags is discouraged, unless the flags and mounts are designed for high speed travel.

I will initially stage at the One-Stop/Exxon gas station near the Capitol. Get off I-64 at the Greenbrier St exit (#99) and turn down the hill towards the Capitol…you can’t miss it. Food, restrooms, and fuel are available. Please be there and ready to roll by 0930. Participants arriving from the south or east may wish to stage at the funeral home and we will meet you there by 1000. Remember to bring your flags for the flag line at the cemetery.

Funeral home staging time: 1000-1015, mission brief at 1020, departure will be 1030.
