The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand up a flag line of honor at a bridge dedication for PFC Herbert Burgess Murphy, USMC; the dedication will take place in Huntington, WV on 21 July at 1100 hours.
PFC. Herbert Burgess Murphy served with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, Mike Company. He was killed in Action on May 10, 1969. His name stands proudly on the Mike 3/5 Wall of Honor. PFC Herbert Murphy and PFC Ronny Smith died while on road security along Liberty Road just outside of An Hoa. They were members of the first platoon who were assigned to daylight observation positions along the road that led from the An Hoa combat base and Da Nang.

We will be standing up a flag line for the entire ceremony; this is a relatively high-profile dedication with several dignitaries, band, military honor guard, etc. Family members of Herbert Murphy will also be present, along with a few members of his former unit.
