ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent honor and respect for LCPL George W. Henry Jr., USMC Vietnam KIA for the dedication of the bridge that is known locally as Glady Fork W-Beam bridge (EB & WB). The bridge carries US 33 over Stonecoal Creek in Lewis County. The dedication is on Saturday, 30 June 2018.
LCPL Henry served Honorably in B CO, 1ST BN, 5TH Marines, 1ST Mardiv, III MAF where on September 5, 1967, he and his unit came under intense enemy rifle fire. In the ensuing battle he was, despite immediate medical attention by a hospital corpsman, mortally wounded and died instantaneously due to the severity of his wounds.
