The family of Darrell “Red” Sullivan has requested the PGR stand up a flag line for a short, private ceremony this Saturday. They would like us to meet them at Smiley’s Motel on Route 60 in St. Albans, https://tinyurl.com/3lf3htu and escort them to the cemetery in South Charleston . This mission will be very short in duration; the family has travel plans for Saturday, and they think that everything will be over by 0900, if not sooner. I know this is a holiday weekend, but if you can spare an hour Saturday morning, I know the family will appreciate it. Please remember to bring a 3×5 flag to use at the cemetery. “Darrell, Jr.” (his son) is riding up from Georgia and a handful of his VFW friends are coming with him for this private ceremony. They are all PGR members in GA, and are hoping we can help out with this flag line; if you have extra flags, please bring them for the guest riders to use.
“Red” passed away a couple of years ago, and this gathering will bring final closure for the family. He spent many years of his life in the Kanawha Valley.
