SSgt Ryan D. Hammond, 26, USAF (AD) of Moundsville, WV died 2 Oct 15, in the crash of a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft at Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. SSgt Hammond proudly served his nation as a Loadmaster assigned to the 39th Airlift Squadron, Dyess AFB, Texas. SSgt Hammond was one of six airmen killed in the crash all of whom were supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

SSgt Ryan D. Hammond is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 3 Nov 2015 at approximately 1300 hours from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his family, and we will be there to stand tall silent and proud in honor of this Airman, his family, friends and comrades at arms.
