The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in silent Honor and Respect for Sgt. Walter “Chip” Haines, U.S. Marine Corps, Desert Storm Veteran, as he is honored and taken to his final rest on Wednesday, 14 Jan 15, in Wheeling, WV.  “Chip” is the cousin of Wendy K. Hunter, Gold Star Spouse of SGT Matthew “Doc” Hunter who was KIA in 2006, the first Mission of Honor within West Virginia for the PGR.  He leaves behind a wife and two young daughters.

Services will be held at 1400 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 16 Ridgecrest Rd., Wheeling, WV (https://tinyurl.com/lekvoox).  At the conclusion of services, Chip will be escort to a family members’ home approximately 15 minutes away.

WV District 6 Ride Captain, Ed Gill (egillsdare@yahoo.com) is the designated RCIC of this most honorable mission.

Flag line will be in place NLT 1300 and maintained until start of services.

Early weather forecast is for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-30’s and a 10% of precipitation.  Overnight lows on Tuesday will be at or near 4 degrees.  Please be sure you check the weather before coming to the mission and ensure you dress and travel according to current conditions.

Understanding this is the middle of the work week, if at all possible, please make a concerted effort to attend and say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our own Heroes who gave of himself for YOUR freedom and liberty.
