Korean War Veteran

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to provide escort then stand in silent Honor and Respect for SGT Sam “Petey” Grossa, U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran as he is laid to eternal rest in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV on Friday, 20 Nov 15.

Petey served two tours of duty in Korea for a total of 6 years, being awarded the Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars and the CIB.

This mission will consist of escorting Petey from the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, WV (https://tinyurl.com/oj6ppuo) to the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV, a distance of approximately 30 miles.

Those who plan to fly large flags during the escort MUST ensure they are securely mounted.

West Virginia RC Mike “Boonie” Jarvis (dolittle202@gmail.com) is the designated Ride Captain in Charge of this most honorable mission.

Staging will be at Hardees, 722 E. Main St., Clarksburg, WV (https://tinyurl.com/pjbpcuv).

Staging time: 1130.

Mission Briefing:1200.

KSU: 1200 for the short trip to the funeral home.

Procession will depart the funeral home @ 1230.

Upon arrival at the National Cemetery, our flag line will be established and maintained for the duration of services, scheduled for 1330.

Early weather forecast for the area is for temperatures in the high 50’s with an 80% of sunshine.  Please dress and travel according to the current conditions.

Understanding this is a work day for many, if at all possible, please make a concerted effort to attend as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our native sons who willingly gave of his time to protect YOUR freedom and liberty during what is commonly referred to as “The Forgotten War”.
