The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for CPL Emma Kathryn “Katy” Gardei, 95, U.S. Army, WWII WAC, for her final services on Thursday, 15 Oct 15.  Katy went to be with the Lord on 11 Oct 15.

Services will be held at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (https://tinyurl.com/nezd63s)  beginning at 1100.  Prior to the start of services there will be a public visitation beginning at 1000.

West Virginia RC Cheryl Skinner (proudusa@outlook.com) is the designate Ride Captain in Charge of this most honorable of missions.

Staging will be at the funeral home at 0930.

Mission brief at 0945.

Flag line will be in place prior to the start of visitation at 1000.

At the conclusion of services, our flag line will be set for Katy’s dignified transfer to the hearse for her final journey to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 135 Gilson Ave., Weirton, WV (https://tinyurl.com/q7npqjb).  Cemetery is located approximately 14 miles from the funeral home.  Escort to the cemetery will be provided.

Upon arriving at the cemetery we will form our flag line one last time for graveside services and will maintain it until the family has departed.

Forecast weather for Thursday is for sunny skies, temperatures in the upper 60’s and 0% chance of rain.  Please dress and travel accordingly

Understanding this is a work day for many, if at all possible, please make a concerted effort to attend this most honorable mission as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our Country’s Greatest Generation.
