***IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

The PGR has again been invited to participate in the Bataan Death March Day of Remembrance Ceremony to be held at the Brooke County Library.

This ceremony will honor the fallen, and the survivors form this historic event. Survivors, descendants, and dignitaries will be on hand to speak. A memorial wreath will be placed in the Ohio River to honor the fallen heroes. Exhibits throughout the day will include a full bivouac set up, as well as artifacts from this time period.

We will form a flag line as the veterans/survivors arrive approximately 11:15 to 11:30, while they depart the bus for the opening flag raising ceremony. We will then move a couple blocks to the Elks lodge to form another flag line as the veterans/ survivors enter for lunch and speaking engagements. We will have about a 2 hour window when PGR will be free to do as needed. We will then re-form at 1:00 p.m. at the Chambers funeral, home for the afternoon’s ceremonies that resume at 2:00 p.m. This will include escorting the veteran/ survivors in a “Memorial walk” back to the Library

Understanding there is a lengthy time period for lunch, if you cannot make both ceremonies, one of the other will be greatly appreciated.

Further details will be given at the ride briefing.

As always, monitor the weather for appropriate attire and safe travel.
