The West Virginia Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to participate in the Annual Veteran’s Day Race in Elm Grove, WV, on November 10, 2012. The race will start at 8:30 a.m.

Participants in this race are veterans and disabled veterans of past and present conflicts and wars. Proceeds from this race benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America organization.

The race will start at the Bridge Street School in Elm Grove, and end at Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling. The race course will be lined with various organizations showing their appreciation for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

The PGR has been asked to provide a flag gauntlet for the runners/participants to pass through at the beginning of the race. We will be standing on the Elm Grove bridge as the participants pass through.

Staging for this most worthy event will be at the Shriner’s Temple across from McDonald’s restaurant, 101 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003, at 7:45 a.m. There will be a briefing at 8:00 a.m., then we will move across the street to the bridge at 8:15 before the beginning of the race.

Details will be given at the briefing.

This event is scheduled for a Saturday, so I hope all can make a concentrated effort to support those who have sacrificed for our freedoms. We participated in this event two years ago, and our participation was most appreciated.

Ron Jones, WV ASC – North, will be the RC for this honorable mission.

As always, follow the mission thread for any updates, and be mindful of the weather and dress accordingly.
