Korean War Veteran

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for SGT Joseph Patrick Geary, 83, US Army, Korean War Veteran, for his final services on Tuesday, 28 Jul 15.  Joseph went to be in the Lord’s Army on Sunday, 26 Jul.

Services will be held at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (https://tinyurl.com/nr7h3z7) beginning at 1100.

West Virginia Ride Captain Ed Gill (egillsdare@yahoo.com) is the designated Ride Captain in Charge of this most honorable mission.

Staging will be at the funeral home at 0915.

Briefing at 0930.

Flag line will be in place prior to the family’s arrival at 0945 and will be maintained until the start of services.

At the conclusion of services, our flag line will be set as Joseph is moved to the hearse for his final journey.  Escort will be provided to Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee.  Road into cemetery is tar/chipped with numerous small gravel.  Please exercise caution.

Upon arrival at the cemetery, our flag line will be set and maintained for the duration of graveside services and until the family’s departure.

Weather forecast is for partly cloudy skies with 0% chance of rain and temperatures in the mid-90’s.  Please, ensure you keep yourself well hydrated as you stand the flag line.  Take frequent breaks, if necessary.

Recognizing this is a work day, if at all possible, make an effort to attend this most honorable mission as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our heroes who gave so willingly of themselves in what is commonly referred to as “The Forgotten War” for YOUR freedom and liberty.
