The family and friends of Virgil Boyd Adkins have requested the Patriot Guard Riders to assist in memorial honors for their hero. Virgil was killed in action while protecting his unit’s departure from the field 10 days before the end of the Korean War. As his remains were never recovered, Virgil was awarded the Silver Star posthumously for his courageous action.
