CONFIRMED – William H. Ferguson, Jr., US Army, Korean War Veteran – Beckley, WV – 23 Oct 14

The family of William Harvey Ferguson, Jr. has requested the Patriot Guard Riders stand in honor of their loved one at his final services. Mr. Ferguson served our nation in the Korean War as a member of the US Army. The family has requested a flag line for the private visitation at the funeral home, and would also like us to provide escort to the cemetery where Mr. Ferguson will be interred with full military honors.

Staging time: 1230-1245, mission brief at 1250, flag line in place by 1300

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for PO1 Ernest Martin Kroese, U.S. Navy, Vietnam Veteran, during his final services on Saturday, 25 Oct 14. Ernest went to be with the Lord on 11 Oct 14 and will be interred on the family property.
WV District 3 RC Carl Spade (ace_gunsmith@hotmail.com) is the designated RCIC of this most honorable mission.

Staging will be at the Exxon station located at the junction of WV Routes 16 and 47. If traveling West on 47, station will be on your right and if traveling East, station will be on your left. If traveling in on Route 16, turn Right at the junction of Route 47.

Staging time: 1315

Brief and KSU at 1330 for the short trip to the family property.

Flag line will be in place prior to the start of services at 1400 and maintained until the conclusion.

Property has a gravel driveway and hard-packed yard which should be conducive to 2-wheels, although cages are also welcome. There is NO escort associated with this mission.

Very early weather forecast is for temperatures in the mid-60’s with a minimal chance of precipitation. Please dress and travel according to conditions on that day.

As this is a weekend and a relatively remote part of West Virginia, if at all possible, please make an effort to attend as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another who so willingly answer our Nation’s call during a period of history when such service was frowned upon by many.

CONFIRMED – MSG (RET) Michael R. Scully, WVARNG – Williamstown, WV – 17 Oct 19

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for MSG (RET) Michael R. Scully, WVARNG, during his final services and tribute on Friday, 17 Oct 14, at the Williamstown Readiness Center in Williamstown, WV. MSG Scully went to be with the Lord on 11 Oct after losing his battle with cancer. 

MSG Scully was a longstanding member and employee of the WVARNG Aviation Community where he served in a variety of leadership and flight crew positions. Additionally during his last years he served and deployed with Special Operations in Africa. 

In addition to his long military career, he was also an avid Harley rider.  To honor his final request, the PGR will be present as he takes his final helo ride. 

Ride Captain assignment is currently pending. 

Staging will be at the Mini-Giant (BP) gas station located at the intersection of WV Routes 2 and 31. 

Staging time: 0815 

Mission brief: 0830.  Additional mission details will be given at that time. 

KSU: NLT 0845 for the short trip to the Readiness Center. 

A flag line will be established as he is moved into the Readiness Center and, again, as he is carried to the launch area for his final journey.  Our participation will end after the helo has taken off. 

Weather forecast for Friday is for temperatures in the high 60’s with a 20% chance of showers.  Please dress and travel accordingly. 

Understanding this is a work day for many, if at all possible, please make a concerted effort to attend this most honorable mission as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our Citizen Soldiers who so willingly gave their time to protect your freedom and liberties.

CONFIRMED – Jackie L. “Jack” Mace, US Army Korean Era Veteran – Charleston, WV – 08 Oct 14

The family of Jack Mace has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in honor of their loved one on Wednesday, October 8th, prior to his memorial service at Maranatha Baptist Church. After many months of declining health, Jack entered the gates of heaven this morning, and suffers no more. He and his wife are good friends and neighbors of mine, and when I asked her if she would like the Patriot Guard to honor Jack, her response was “absolutely”.

  This will be a flag-line only mission, no escort will be needed as Jack will be buried in a separate ceremony the following day; your mode of transportation is up to you (bike or cage). In the event of inclement weather, our flag line will be posted inside the church entrance. When the service begins at 1900, the mission will terminate.

Staging time: 1730-1745, with a mission brief at 1750, flag line in place by 1800 (6:00 pm)

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor of Glen Harrah at his final services on Friday, Sept 26th. The funeral service portion of this mission will take place in Ohio, and the burial will take place in West Virginia. WV leadership of this mission of honor has been fully coordinated with Bob Woods, OHPGR State Captain.

This mission will include flag lines at the church and cemetery, as well as an escort. If you plan to fly flags during the escort, please ensure they can withstand the escort speed and distance…the RC will provide escort details at the mission brief.

Staging time: 1115-1130, briefing at 1130, KSU when briefing is completed

Services will be held on Monday, 22 Sep, beginning at 1300 at the Christ Mission Baptist Church in Lubeck, WV.

The family has requested that the Patriot Guard be present at visitation on Sunday 07 Sept 2014 from 12:00 – 15:00 and 18:00 – 20:00, at the Grisell Funeral Home 400 Jefferson St. Moundsville WV.  Funeral Services will be on Monday 08 Sep 2014 at 11:00 am.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for Bruce Lynn Bennett, US Army, Vietnam Veteran who went to be with the Lord on 31 Aug 14.  Bruce served two tours in Vietnam as a member of the 198th Light Infantry Brigade.
