The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent Honor and Respect for Herschel Carpenter, 93, U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII as he is laid to rest on Wednesday, 11 July, in Buckhannon, WV.  Herschel went to be with the Lord on Saturday, 7 July, at the West Virginia Veteran’s Nursing Facility in Clarksburg.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, 11 July, beginning at 1100 at the Buckhannon Memorial Cemetery, formerly known as Old Heavner Cemetery, located on Route 33, just North of Buckhannon (https://tinyurl.com/7hbdrd9).

Staging will be at 1015 at the cemetery with our flag line in place NLT 1030.  Flag line will be maintained until the conclusion of services.

Robert Purinton and Karen Stern have graciously agreed to be temporary Ride Captains for this most honorable, however, please direct any questions to me at wvugo2001@suddenlink.net or at 304-834-1576 or 304-534-1150.

Weather forecast for tomorrow is for mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80’s.  Please ensure you dress according to the weather and keep yourself properly hydrated.

Understanding this is EXTREMELY short notice and in the middle of the work week, please make a concerted effort to stand for another of America’s Greatest Generation.
